About Me

Resolving Maritime Disputes with Integrity

After qualifying as a solicitor in 1993, I worked in London specialising in commercial litigation. In 1997, I returned to my hometown of Newcastle and joined a leading IG P&I Club, where I spent 28 years as a solicitor and FD&D Claims Director. I advised Owners and Charterers on their Charterparties and contracts, handling claims and defences in London arbitration. I was also a member of industry committees, including BIMCO and the UK Chamber of Shipping Documentary Committees. Following my retirement in 2025, I became a Supporting Member of the LMAA and now practice as a maritime arbitrator and have accepted appointments under the LMAA Terms, Small Claims, and Intermediate Claims Procedures.
